Anima
Made by Salvatori
Designed by Glenn Pushelberg & George Yabu
Anima began with a question: what happens when the yielding, tactile sensibility of clay is applied to marble? Yabu Pushelberg's answer is a bathroom collection that softens stone without diminishing it, coaxing fluid, amorphic profiles from one of architecture's most enduring materials.
Natural stone is preserved in full, with each piece retaining its distinctive veining, depth, and color. The softening is gestural, a rounding of edges and a loosening of geometry that makes the material feel almost responsive. Sculpted rather than fabricated.
The collection spans a wide vocabulary of objects: a freestanding bathtub, wall-mounted, countertop, and freestanding basins, a backlit mirror, modular drawer unit, and complementary accessories. Each piece shares the same formal language, so the collection holds together as a composed environment rather than an assembly of parts.
- Available in Bianco Carrara, Crema d'Orcia, Pietra d'Avola, Gris du Marais, and Silk Georgette
- Fluid, amorphic forms derived from the formal vocabulary of clay
- Freestanding bathtub, multiple basin configurations, backlit mirror, and modular storage
- Each stone finish preserves natural veining, color variation, and depth
George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg bring to Anima the same cross-disciplinary curiosity that defines their broader practice: an interest in emotion, ritual, and the quiet drama of materials in repose.

Frequently Asked Questions
What stones are available for the Anima collection?
Anima is offered in five natural stone finishes: Bianco Carrara, Crema d'Orcia, Pietra d'Avola, Gris du Marais, and Silk Georgette. Each finish preserves the stone's inherent veining and tonal depth, so no two pieces are precisely identical.
Who designed the Anima bathroom collection?
Anima was designed by Glenn Pushelberg & George Yabu, the Toronto and New York-based studio known for interiors and objects that foreground emotional atmosphere and material sensitivity. The collection reflects their interest in cross-disciplinary formal references, drawing the tactile logic of clay into the discipline of stone.
What pieces are included in the Anima collection?
The collection includes a freestanding bathtub, wall-mounted, countertop, and freestanding basin options, a backlit mirror, a modular drawer unit, and a range of complementary accessories. The pieces share a unified formal language, allowing them to function as a cohesive bathroom environment.
How does Salvatori work with marble to achieve these organic forms?
Salvatori uses precision stone-cutting technology developed over decades in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, to render curved and amorphic profiles in solid marble. The fluid silhouettes of Anima are the result of close collaboration between the designers and the stone atelier, where digital fabrication and hand-finishing work in concert to achieve forms that feel sculptural rather than machined.
Is the Anima bathtub freestanding or built-in?
The Anima bathtub is freestanding, carved from a single block of natural marble. Its form is conceived as a self-contained sculptural object, intended to occupy the center of a space rather than recede into a surround or alcove.
