Sedia Margherita
Made by Edra
Designed by Jacopo Foggini

Domande Frequenti
How is the Margherita Chair made?
Each Margherita Chair is built by hand in Foggini's studio, with polycarbonate filaments woven arc by arc over a structural armature. The handwork means no two chairs are precisely alike, and the production time reflects the labor involved in that process.
What is polycarbonate, and is it durable for seating?
Polycarbonate is a high-performance thermoplastic known for its exceptional impact resistance and optical clarity. Foggini has worked with the material for decades, developing proprietary techniques that yield structural integrity alongside the translucent, light-refracting quality the Margherita Chair is recognized for.
Who is Jacopo Foggini?
Jacopo Foggini is a Milan-based designer and artist who built his practice around polycarbonate as a sculptural medium. His work sits at the intersection of design and fine art, and he has collaborated with Edra on several pieces that have entered permanent museum collections.
Does the Margherita Chair work indoors and outdoors?
The Margherita Chair is designed for interior use. While polycarbonate itself is resistant to impact, the brushed-steel base and the specific finishing of the woven filaments are specified for controlled interior environments.
What are the lead times for a made-to-order piece?
Because each chair is woven by hand, lead times are longer than those for production furniture. Prospective buyers should inquire directly for current production schedules, as timing varies based on studio capacity and specification.
