Vaso Intrecciato

The Braid Vase is cast in fine resin, which allows the complex intertwining petal forms to be realized with the smooth, continuous surface that Zaha Hadid's parametric aesthetic demands. The material also gives the piece a consistent, high-contrast finish that reads well both with and without florals.

It is designed to function as both. The crown opening accommodates cut flower stems, and Hadid's studio conceived the proportions so that an arrangement becomes a visual continuation of the sculptural form rather than something placed on top of it. It is equally resolved as a standalone object.

Zaha Hadid Design is the product and interiors studio founded alongside Zaha Hadid Architects. It applies the same parametric and fluid formal language that defined her buildings to objects, furniture, and installations. Since Hadid's passing in 2016, the studio has continued under her collaborators, maintaining fidelity to her design philosophy.

Hadid was the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize, awarded in 2004. She also received the Stirling Prize twice, the RIBA Royal Gold Medal in 2016 (the first woman to receive it as a solo recipient), and numerous other honors recognizing her contributions to contemporary architecture.

The vase reads strongly in isolation, on a plinth, console, or low table where its full silhouette is unobstructed. Architects and designers often use it as a focal point in minimalist or contemporary interiors, where its fluid geometry creates a deliberate contrast with planar surfaces.
