21 Cluster Column
Made by Bocci
Designed by Omer Arbel
Omer Arbel's 21 Cluster Column begins with a material contradiction: porcelain, one of the most rigid of ceramics, rendered into thin, draped sheets that settle around a frosted borosilicate glass diffuser. The result is a form that reads as both geological and textile, each pendant carrying slight variations that make no two alike.
Suspended from slender coaxial cables at staggered heights, a configuration of pendants coalesces into a vertical column with genuine sculptural weight. The warm 2700K illumination, available in LED or Xenon, draws out the natural grain and translucency of the porcelain, casting light that shifts in character depending on the density of the grouping.
- Porcelain sheets formed over frosted borosilicate glass diffusers
- Configurations ranging from three to 61 pendants
- Adjustable cable drops and canopy sizes for varied architectural proportions
- 2700K warm illumination via LED or Xenon lamp options
The collection scales from intimate residential installations to double-height architectural volumes. Each configuration is assembled to order, allowing the column's density, spread, and drop to respond directly to a given space.

Domande Frequenti
What is the 21 Cluster Column made from?
Each pendant in the 21 Cluster Column is formed from thin porcelain sheets draped around a frosted borosilicate glass diffuser. The porcelain is shaped while pliable, so it settles into an organic form that varies subtly from piece to piece, giving the overall column a handmade, non-repeating character.
How many pendants can the 21 Cluster Column include?
Configurations range from three to 61 pendants. The number of pendants, cable drop lengths, and canopy size are all adjustable, allowing the installation to be calibrated to the scale and proportion of a specific architectural space.
Who designed the Bocci 21 Cluster Column?
The 21 Cluster Column was designed by Omer Arbel, the Vancouver-based architect and designer who serves as creative director of Bocci. Arbel's work consistently investigates industrial processes taken to their material limits, using controlled chance to generate form.
What light source does the 21 Cluster Column use?
The collection is available with either LED or Xenon lamp options, both at 2700K. That warm color temperature is deliberate: it accentuates the natural texture and subtle translucency of the porcelain rather than reading as a neutral or cool white.
Is the 21 Cluster Column suitable for double-height spaces?
Yes. The column format and adjustable cable drops make it well suited to double-height interiors, atriums, and large-scale architectural installations. Smaller configurations with shorter drops work equally well in intimate residential settings, and each piece is assembled to order to match the specific proportions of a given project.
