La serie 14 di Bocci è nata nel 2005 come indagine sulle possibilità espressive del vetro fuso. Ogni sfera è formata da due emisferi fusi a mano, il cui equatore è volutamente imperfetto e la cui superficie è viva delle variazioni naturali che solo una mano umana e il materiale fuso possono produrre insieme.
La 14p porta lo stesso linguaggio in una forma senza fili. Liberata da qualsiasi posizione fissa, la lampada diventa qualcosa di più simile a un oggetto che a un apparecchio. Bocci has not published an official runtime figure, as performance varies by brightness level. At the lowest setting the lamp is intended for extended ambient use; at full brightness, runtime is shorter. Charging is via USB-C, making recharging straightforward in most settings.

The 14 Series was first developed in 2005 as a pendant system built around hand-cast glass spheres with a distinctive textured equator and deliberate surface variation. The 14p reinterprets that same casting process and formal language in a self-contained, cordless object, preserving the material character of the original without requiring a hardwired installation.
Is the glass in each 14p unique?
Yes. Because each sphere is formed from two individually hand-cast glass hemispheres, no two pieces are identical. Surface texture, minor color shifts, and the character of the equatorial seam vary naturally from piece to piece, which is a defining quality of Bocci's glass production.
Can multiple 14p lamps be grouped together?
The lamp is designed to work both as a standalone object and in multiples. Grouping several units across a table or surface amplifies the soft, candle-like atmosphere characteristic of the 14 Series, and each lamp operates independently, so brightness levels can be set individually.
