Tolomeo Due Bracci Suspension

When Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina designed the Tolomeo in 1987, they were solving a problem that most lamps of the era ignored: how to make a mechanically complex object feel effortless. The Due Bracci Suspension extends that original vision into a pendant format, with two articulated arms extending from a single stem, each independently adjustable through a spring-tensioning system that holds position without friction locks or visible hardware.

The structure is machined aluminum throughout, polished on the arm segments and satin-finished on the diffuser. This contrast is not decorative - it reflects the lamp's internal logic, distinguishing moving parts from light-emitting surfaces. The material's low mass means the spring mechanism remains precise over years of use.

• Dual articulated arms, each with independent directional control
• Spring-balanced tension system requiring no tightening or tools to reposition
• Precision-machined aluminum structure in polished and satin finishes
• Pendant configuration suitable for task and ambient use

The Tolomeo has been part of the permanent collection at MoMA since 1989. The Due Bracci Suspension carries that same formal discipline into a hanging format - a lamp that is as considered in stillness as it is in motion.
