System Ht - Modular System
Made by Porro
Designed by Piero Lissoni
System Ht renews Porro's long-running System collection through a fundamental shift in structure. Where earlier iterations relied on traditional side-shoulder construction, System Ht moves toward lighter wall compositions built from slender metal uprights and vertical wooden partitions. The result reads less as furniture and more as architecture.
Designed by Piero Lissoni in collaboration with CRS Porro, the system is organized around geometric precision: clean lines, calibrated volumes, and an openness that allows each configuration to breathe. Glass panels introduce transparency, while integrated ambient lighting adds depth without visual weight.
Personalization is central to System Ht. Over twenty wood species and more than thirty lacquered finishes allow compositions to shift from warm and organic to cool and graphic. Metallic finishes, display windows, television room solutions, and storage units extend the range further, giving architects and designers the vocabulary to address nearly any spatial condition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who designed the Porro System Ht?
System Ht was designed by Piero Lissoni in collaboration with CRS Porro, the brand's internal research studio. Lissoni's approach prioritizes structural restraint, shifting the system away from traditional case-goods construction toward lighter, architecturally inflected wall compositions.
How does System Ht differ from a standard shelving unit?
System Ht operates as a modular wall system rather than a freestanding shelving unit. It uses metal uprights and vertical wooden or glass partitions to create layered compositions that integrate into a room's architecture, with optional ambient lighting built directly into the structure.
What finish and material options are available for System Ht?
Porro offers more than twenty wood species and over thirty lacquered finishes for System Ht, alongside metallic surface options. These can be combined across uprights, partitions, and storage elements to produce compositions ranging from monochromatic to richly contrasted.
Can System Ht accommodate a television or AV setup?
Yes. System Ht includes dedicated television room configurations and media storage solutions within its modular vocabulary. These components are designed to integrate flush with the broader wall composition, maintaining visual continuity rather than isolating the AV function.
What is Porro's design philosophy?
Porro is an Italian furniture brand with roots in the Brianza region, long associated with precision woodworking and refined material culture. The brand works with leading designers, including Piero Lissoni, to develop systems that balance technical rigor with spatial sensibility.
