Bertrand Lejoly's Pli sofa for Paola Lenti begins with a single question: what if a cushion could do everything? The answer is a folded form that serves as seat, backrest, and armrest simultaneously, dissolving the conventional divisions of outdoor furniture into one unbroken, architectural gesture.
The structural foundation is AISI 316 stainless steel, a marine-grade alloy with proven resistance to salt air, humidity, and coastal exposure. Elastic belt suspension and precision plastic spacers calibrate the balance between support and give, while a glossy varnish finish preserves the frame's integrity over years of outdoor use.
Inside the cushion, a polyurethane core is layered with Aerelle® Blue polyester fiber, a certified sustainable fill that maintains its loft and resilience in changing weather. The outer polyester foam is fully waterproof, and the upholstery is removable for care or seasonal storage.
