The FF.Spine began as a commission for the "1858" Galleria Giustini / Stagetti collection, and it marks Formafantasma's first collaboration with Cassina. The premise is direct: wood, taken seriously. Canaletto walnut or ash, chosen for grain and structural integrity, carries the weight of each shelf with a frankness that rejects ornament.
What the carpentry workshop achieves here is a quiet act of precision. The construction is linear to the point of austerity, yet the geometric relationships between uprights, posts, and shelves produce something with distinct visual tension. Modular in logic, singular in presence.

- Finishes: natural, hand-applied colour using ragging technique, or matte black lacquer
The ragging technique, applied by hand, means no two pieces carry exactly the same surface. Natural imperfection is not corrected - it is the point.
