Arabesco CM
Made by Zanotta
Designed by Carlo Mollino
Carlo Mollino occupies a singular position in twentieth-century design: an architect, skier, pilot, and photographer whose furniture bent the rules of wood and structural logic simultaneously. The Arabesco table, originally conceived in the late 1940s, is among the clearest expressions of that sensibility. Its frame flows rather than stands, a continuous arc of bent plywood that reads as drawing made three-dimensional.
Zanotta produces the Arabesco CM under exclusive license from the Agenzia del Demanio, which holds all intellectual property rights to Mollino's works pursuant to Article 586 of the Italian Civil Code. The designation CM honors that provenance directly.
The frame is veneered bent plywood, available in natural oak with a wax-finished varnish or in black varnished oak. Two tempered glass shelves sit at different heights, connected to the frame by an internally threaded screw. Glass options include extra-clear plate, natural oak-toned, or smoky grey, each calibrated to complement its corresponding frame finish.
