L'orologio a pendolo da terra Tiuku del designer finlandese Ari Kanerva trasforma la struttura convenzionale dell'orologio a pendolo in una rappresentazione urbana ideale di utilità e coerenza. Sfuggendo alle tradizioni originali, ornate e decorative di tali oggetti, il design evita il superfluo e si concentra invece sulla forma minimale ideata dalla funzione dell'orologio. Tiuku, che significa "campana" in finlandese, è realizzato in metallo e si erge su due gambe distintive ad oltre un metro e ottanta in un design lucido che mantiene gli elementi di efficiente artigianalità intrinseci agli orologi a muro. L'imponente orologio a pendolo, con la sua superficie metallica liscia e l'altezza particolare, si inclina ad un angolo quando fissato al muro e attirerà l'attenzione e vivacizzerà qualsiasi spazio con il suo design e colore unici. L'orologio nero presenta un pendolo oscillante bianco; gli orologi bianchi e arancioni presentano un pendolo oscillante nero.

  • A new version of the pendulum clock, an useful object, simple but, at the same time, able to furnish any place, public or private
  • The clocks body is powder coated sheet steel that is laser cut and bent, which stiffens the legs and creates a three-dimensional object from the two-dimensional sheet
  • Tiuku MUST BE mounted to the wall with two screws and remains leaning at a slight angle when installed
  • Mounting the clock to the wall ensures that the pendulum mechanism in the back is at the right angle in order to activate the swing
