The TA001P Dream Chair is Tadao Ando's tribute to Hans J. Wegner, the Danish master whose sculptural restraint Ando long admired. Where Wegner distilled furniture to its essential gesture, Ando brought his own architectural discipline to the form: a rigorous sensitivity to proportion, to the meeting of materials, and to the charged silence of negative space.
The walnut frame is shaped with a precision that rewards close inspection. Each joint reflects Carl Hansen & Søn's generations-deep knowledge of wood, and the chair reads as a complete object from every angle - no hierarchy of front or back, no incidental detail.
Upholstered in Sif 92 leather, the seat and back introduce warmth without softening the chair's architectural resolve. An optional neck pillow extends that dialogue between structure and comfort. Oil finish preserves the walnut's natural grain and allows the wood to develop its own patina over years of use.
