La sedia Pipe di Sebastian Herkner per Moroso trae il suo carattere da un unico, decisivo elemento: un tubo di alluminio verniciato a polvere di 80 mm che forma l'intera struttura portante. La dimensione di quel tubo è intenzionale. Conferisce alla sedia una presenza quasi scultorea, a metà tra l'architettura industriale e il comfort domestico.
Il cuscino della seduta è modellato per suggerire qualcosa di gonfiabile, una forma arrotondata e generosa realizzata in poliuretano indeformabile, ignifugo, a densità variabile, con finitura in fibra di poliestere su un telaio in legno duro. Lo schienale segue la stessa logica, utilizzando schiuma poliuretanica ignifuga iniettata e fibra di poliestere per mantenere la sua forma nel tempo. I supporti esterni dello schienale e le gambe sono in acciaio tubolare, disponibili in finitura cromata o verniciata a polvere, poggianti su piedini in PVC trasparente.
