Davide Groppi is an Italian lighting designer and manufacturer based in Piacenza, Italy. His practice is grounded in a philosophy that light itself is the subject of design, not merely a function of it. His work is distinguished by extreme formal restraint and a preference for natural or elemental materials.

The rice paper diffuser produces a soft, warm, omnidirectional glow with gentle gradations of shadow across its surface. It does not deliver focused task lighting; rather, it creates an ambient quality of light that shifts subtly with the surrounding environment.

The Moon's spherical silhouette and the scale it implies make it effective in a range of interior volumes. In double-height or open spaces, it functions as a sculptural anchor.
