Domande Frequenti
Who designed the Falper Columns kitchen system?
Columns was designed by Andrea Federici, an Italian designer whose work consistently addresses the relationship between storage and architectural form. Federici approaches the kitchen as a spatial element rather than a functional insert, and Columns reflects that sensibility through its emphasis on surface continuity and vertical proportion.
What materials are used in the Columns system?
The system is constructed on a high-quality plywood or MDF substrate, finished with book-matched veneers. Book-matching aligns the grain pattern symmetrically across adjacent panels, creating a coherent visual flow across the entire wall composition. The 45-degree door edges eliminate visible framing, allowing the veneer to wrap the form without interruption.
Can the Columns system be configured with a refrigerator?
Yes. The internal configurations support refrigerator integration alongside pantry organization, and the modular column format is designed so that appliance housing does not disrupt the external uniformity of the wall. From the exterior, the composition reads as an unbroken surface regardless of what is housed within.
What sizes are available, and can elements be made to measure?
Standard column elements are available in 60 cm and 64 cm widths. For projects requiring a precise ceiling-to-floor fit or a specific overall dimension, Top-Columns are produced to measure, allowing the system to be tailored to the exact proportions of the space without resorting to filler panels or visible transitions.
How does the Columns system connect the kitchen and living area?
Andrea Federici designed Columns with a consistent architectural language that does not change character at the boundary between kitchen and living zones. The clean profile, recessed vertical handles, and continuous veneer surface carry the same visual weight in both contexts, making the storage wall a natural extension of the room rather than a defined kitchen boundary.
