Bocca nasce da un'unica commissione privata. Il risultato, nel 1970, è stato uno degli oggetti più riconoscibili nel design del ventesimo secolo: un divano a forma di labbra umane, scolpito in poliuretano e rifinito in Guflac, la caratteristica lacca gommata di Gufram.
Studio 65, il collettivo di architetti torinesi, si è ispirato al dipinto di Salvador Dalí del 1935 "Il volto di Mae West che può essere usato come un appartamento surrealista" come punto di partenza concettuale. Il risultato porta una sensibilità distintamente Pop, equamente divisa tra provocazione e artigianato. La sottile asimmetria a ogni angolo non è casuale; rispecchia l'irregolarità naturale delle labbra, ed è ciò che distingue l'originale dalle sue numerose imitazioni.
Bocca è stato collezionato da musei, presentato in pubblicazioni di design dedicate e installato in alcuni degli interni privati architettonicamente più significativi del mondo. Nel 2008, la famiglia si è allargata. La Dark Lady ha introdotto il Guflac nero e un piercing oversize, mentre le edizioni successive hanno continuato a estendere il dialogo culturale dell'oggetto senza diminuirne la carica originale.
