Muller Van Severen is a Belgian design studio founded in 2011 by artists Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. Emerging from their individual practices in photography and sculpture, the duo began designing furniture together through a shared interest in architecture, materiality, and the spatial presence of everyday objects. Their first collection established a distinctive language in which functional pieces are conceived as carefully balanced compositions of color, line, surface, and volume.
Working across furniture, lighting, objects, installations, and limited editions, Muller Van Severen creates designs that occupy an expressive territory between utility and sculpture. Steel profiles, marble, polyethylene, aluminum, enamel, and leather are often placed in direct dialogue, allowing construction and material contrast to remain visible. The studio has collaborated with brands including HAY, valerie_objects, BD Barcelona, Zanotta, and Kvadrat, while its work has been presented by international museums and galleries. Its designs are recognized for bringing visual clarity and emotional vitality to contemporary interiors without sacrificing function or architectural discipline.
