Ionna Vautrin

Nato nel 1979 | France

Ionna Vautrin is a French designer whose work is distinguished by clarity, warmth, and a refined balance between industry and poetry. She graduated from L'Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique in 2002, then worked with Camper in Spain, George J. Sowden in Italy, and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in France before opening her own studio in Paris in 2011. That same year, after receiving the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris, she established an independent practice dedicated to everyday objects that are immediate, useful, and quietly unexpected.

Across furniture, lighting, decorative objects, and public projects, Vautrin has developed a body of work that combines humor, softness, and precision of use. Her official studio presents her creations as part of a symbolic and formal universe in which each object belongs to a shared visual language, while brand profiles emphasize the gentle presence and warm spirit that define her shapes. Best known for projects such as Binic and Chouchin, as well as more recent work ranging from ceramic objects to liturgical furniture for Notre-Dame de Paris, she brings a distinctly French sensibility to contemporary design: one that feels accessible, poetic, and elegantly resolved rather than overtly monumental.
