Enrico Franzolini is an Italian architect and designer whose work is distinguished by formal elegance, artistic sensitivity, and a consistent ability to move between architecture, interiors, and product design with ease. Born in Udine in 1952, he studied in Florence and Venice, graduating in architecture in 1979. His early artistic research led to participation in exhibitions beginning with the Venice Biennale in 1972, and that visual background continued to inform the poetic clarity of his later work.
In 1981, he opened his studio in Udine, developing projects across different scales while maintaining a recognizable method and stylistic coherence. Over the years, he has collaborated with leading furniture and lighting brands including Alias, Cappellini, Foscarini, Knoll International, Moroso, and Pedrali. His work is admired for combining architectural discipline with softness and movement, creating furniture and lighting that feel refined, intelligent, and quietly expressive. He has also received important recognition, including first prize at the Promosedia International Fair in 1991, an honorable mention for the Compasso d'Oro in 1999 for the Asia chair, and the Red Dot Design Award in 2005 for the Lagoa chair.
