A Swedish design and architecture studio known for a calm, exacting modernism shaped by clarity, proportion, and quiet innovation. Its work moves between architecture, interiors, and product design, often creating pieces that feel effortless, intelligent, and finely resolved.
Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural and design partnership founded in Stockholm in 1995 by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto, and Ola Rune. Originally established as an architectural office, the practice evolved into an internationally recognized multidisciplinary studio with equal emphasis on architecture and design. Official studio materials and design references describe a body of work shaped by formal restraint, precision, and a distinctly Scandinavian sensitivity to atmosphere, utility, and visual calm.
Over the years, the studio has built an extensive international portfolio spanning private houses, hospitality, public architecture, furniture, lighting, rugs, and industrial design. Claesson Koivisto Rune was the first Swedish office to exhibit in the international section of the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2004, and its work has been developed in collaboration with brands including Arflex, FontanaArte, Kasthall, and many others. Across these projects, the studio has become known for giving contemporary design a sense of softness, intelligence, and clarity, creating objects and spaces that feel quietly luxurious rather than overtly expressive.
