La Chaise fue un prototipo presentado en un concurso de diseño de 1948, patrocinado por el Museo de Arte Moderno y el Museum Design Project, Inc. Un impresionante homenaje al escultor Gaston La Chaise, ya que la chaise encarnaba el mismo organicismo fluido de sus esculturas. Pasaron cuarenta y dos años antes de que Vitra la produjera en 1990. Consiste en dos finas carcasas de fibra de vidrio moldeada, cementadas sobre una base de varillas de acero cromado y roble natural.
