Description

La Silla Negra, Roja y Azul es una variante de la icónica Silla Roja y Azul, creada originalmente por Gerrit T. Rietveld en 1918 y reproducida fielmente por Cassina. Esta versión fue creada para el maestro de escuela Wicher Zeilmaker y presenta un respaldo y asiento verde oscuro con estructura negra y extremos blancos.

Tras analizar las piezas originales, se descubrió que la primera se fabricó íntegramente en madera sin pintar. En los años siguientes, Rietveld propuso varios ejemplares, monocromáticos o pintados con otros colores, según las necesidades de los clientes y los interiores que la silla amueblaría. Los primeros propietarios la conservaban en sus hogares como si fuera una escultura abstracta, pero en algunos casos se utilizaba como una silla propiamente dicha, con cojines para mayor comodidad. Como icono de colección y pieza escultórica, sigue siendo una de las piezas más reconocidas del diseño del siglo XX.
