Glaslove, an innovative design fundraiser, driven by Nargis and Nasir Kassamali’s desire to give back and help find a cure for cancer, is on exhibit during Miami art and design week starting November 28 through December 10 at the Miami Design District. The charity exhibition features bespoke objects created in glass including limited editions and prototypes by world-renowned designers from the likes of Nendo, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Tord Boontje and more.
An eloquent curation of modern glasswork, the material was chosen for the duality of its strong yet fragile nature. Poetically and metaphorically, glass reflects the spirit of those battling cancer, and therefore, was the ideal material for the fourth edition of Luminaire’s “Love” fundraising series to benefit cancer research at the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
