Ambientec at Luminaire

Founded in 2009 with the devoted aim to explore new, experimental horizons in portable lighting design, Ambientec creates inimitable objects with purity of form, vivid sensuality, and an indestructible durability that sets them apart from other wireless lighting brands, deeply personal pieces that engage a dialogue of conviviality and charm with any space they illuminate. Based in Japan, this innovative company was greatly affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, when founder and CEO Yoshinori Kuno envisioned a new kind of indoor lamp, exuding a poetry written in light adaptable to any setting or environment where a warm, friendly luminosity is desired. With years of success in digital imagery and professional lighting for underwater photography, Kuno wished to develop more intimate and comforting lamps that escape the disposable culture of mass production and instead embrace a more authentic and sustainable harmony between people and objects.

Speaking to the delicate moments that fill our lives with warmth and companionship, serenity and delight in a way that only the best lighting can, Ambientec presents innovative and welcoming solutions to long lasting lumination, with pieces like Nao Tamura’s Turn and Turn+, and envelopes space with effortless elegance embodied by a whale navigating the sea as with the Cachalot by Yoshiki Matsuyama. With a nod to lanterns of the past imbued with mesmerizing strength of the technology of the future, the Hymn Cordless Lamp from Hiroto Yoshioe fills a room with a comforting and inspiring glimmer, while the Bottle Rechargeable Lamp by Ryuichi Kozeki adds charm and an inviting ambience to dining or in spaces where an earnest glow is needed most.
