Luminaire is a tribe, made of connections between us and the community, a family of optimism, purpose, and love. These times call for us to reach out, connect, discover how we can help each other, make sure we all know we have a hand in this journey together, and see that we are united.
In uncertain times like today, we may wonder, what is the point of thinking about design. Consumed with the concerning news affecting the entire world, design can seem like a frivolous distraction from issues that matter. However, what is clear is that the communicative power of design lies in the integration between function and aesthetics.
Beauty is valuable. It gives breath. It helps to unravel the complexities of life with grace, with a little poetry and a lot of irony. It is a display of how humanism and innovation consolidate a reality made more livable by the skills of the design disciplines. And, while on the one hand, many say that all this is superfluous, on the other, it is also true that design interjects love and compassion into the industry and material culture.
Design and communication go hand in hand. It will not save the world, but it has the power to change and inspire it to new growths. Even now, as we look over statistics, charts, and streams of news, design is the foundation that creates clarity of messaging to help communicate with the vast amount of people directly and without ambiguity.
Encouraging innovation, expanding possibilities, and lessening tension towards the future, from its inception, Luminaire has believed in the transformative power of design. In moments such as now, keep in perspective that it is the communicative ability of creativity that can help shed new light and offer an outlet for inspiration and reflection.
Luminaire will continue to share beautiful and inspiring moments, reflections, and narratives about the designs, craftsmanship, and the creatives we have the pleasure to work with for over 46 years with hopes to bring some positivity to your day. Together with compassion, kindness, and commitment, we will all get past this difficult situation, and we will look forward to seeing all our Family in person again soon.
