Designed by Marco Zito
This small wooden sculpture designed by Marco Zito represents the popular ferry of Venice. It is made of real Venetian briccola wood, the same wood used in the poles hanging over the water in Venice. This is a fantastic piece symbolic of the characteristic Italian island city.
\nAwarded 2020 Compasso D' Oro Award for Social Design Enterprise Project, Pieces of Venice is a social enterprise that started with the reclamation and recycling of discarded materials from Venice, which are given new life through industrial design projects that turn them into souvenirs or useful objects. The products are all dedicated to this city, unique in the world, starting with their names, which indicate an address of a cultural institution, such as a museum, or of a business known for its excellence—such as a restaurant—drawing a map that leads the tourist to discover the city’s hidden treasures. The client who purchases a Pieces of Venice product, will carry with them a genuine piece of Venice, a city that is unique in the world for its beauty, culture, and its history.
