Smoke

Marcel Wanders designed the Smoke coffeetable for Cappellini as an exercise in optical precision. The defining gesture is the mitering of transparent and colored glass along both sides, a technique that fuses the two materials at an angle rather than simply layering them, producing a clean, continuous edge that reads differently depending on the light and the viewer's position.

The colored glass, available in smoky grey or blue, does not stop at the legs. It carries across the table top, giving the piece a singular chromatic identity rather than the look of a frame holding an insert.

• Mitered transparent and colored glass construction on both sides
• Color extends continuously across the table surface
• Available in smoky grey and blue glass finishes
• Low profile suited to living rooms and lounge environments

Wanders's linear approach keeps the silhouette disciplined, allowing the materiality of the glass itself to carry the visual weight. The result sits equally at home in a residential living room and a professionally designed lounge, adapting to context without losing its own clarity of form.
