Anna Torfs is a Belgian designer whose work has become synonymous with sculptural glass objects defined by purity, depth, and a quiet sense of wonder. She studied interior architecture at the Sint-Lucas School of Architecture in Brussels and, in the early 1990s, moved to the Czech Republic, where she began collaborating with master glassmakers. In 2002, she created her first glass collection, establishing a language that would come to distinguish her internationally.
At the center of Torfs's practice is glass's ability to capture, reflect, and absorb light. Her objects are characterized by a compelling dialogue between strict geometry and an organic, poetic sensibility, often enhanced by saturated color and meticulous hand-finishing. All of her pieces are handmade, and her studio notes that traditional techniques such as glass blowing, cutting, and sanding remain essential to her work. In 2024, she expanded her universe with a Marble & Travertine collection produced in Belgium, while continuing to build the globally recognized Anna Torfs brand together with Dries Coppens.
