Hashi prende il nome dalla parola giapponese che indica le bacchette. Due braccia sottili si estendono da un perno centrale, ognuno posizionabile indipendentemente, ognuno una fonte di luce direzionata. La composizione è quasi calligrafica, una linea disegnata tenuta nello spazio dalla proporzione piuttosto che dalla massa.
Davide Groppi ha fondato la sua pratica su un'unica convinzione: la luce è il materiale. L'apparecchio esiste solo per scomparire, lasciando l'illuminazione come la presenza nella stanza. Con Hashi, questa filosofia raggiunge una riduzione assoluta, un fulcro e due gesti, niente di più.
