Half Dome nasce da un unico gesto pensato: un sottile albero che si innalza verso una testa dolcemente curva che fluttua come una luna bassa sopra uno spazio abitativo esterno. Naoto Fukasawa, la cui pratica è radicata nel rapporto tra istinto umano e forma, ha concepito la lampada come una presenza quasi naturale, che appartiene al paesaggio piuttosto che interromperlo.
La struttura è in alluminio termico estruso, disponibile nelle finiture osso o duna di sabbia, ogni tonalità ispirata ai registri più tranquilli del mondo naturale. Un sensore di prossimità risponde a una mano passata sotto la cupola, rendendo l'atto di accendere la luce meno simile all'azionamento di un apparecchio e più a un riflesso. La testa della lampada regolabile consente un controllo direzionale senza alterare la silhouette composta della lampada.
