Concepito per la prima volta nel 1974 da Tobia e Afra Scarpa, il divano Elogio occupa un posto specifico nel design italiano del dopoguerra: non è né rigidamente formale né casualmente informale, ma tiene entrambe le impulsi in una attenta tensione. Il nome stesso, che significa "lode" in italiano, parla di una celebrazione dell'artigianato e delle proporzioni piuttosto che dello spettacolo.
Rivisato da Tobia Scarpa in collaborazione con GUBI, il divano mantiene la sicurezza architettonica dell'originale acquisendo al contempo una gamma contemporanea di configurazioni. I cuscini possono essere riorientati, i moduli ricombinati e le selezioni di rivestimento stratificate per spostare il carattere del pezzo da composto ad avvolgente.
