Hans J. Wegner designed the CH011 in 1954, and its proportions have lost nothing in the intervening decades. Four tapered legs tilt slightly outward along the table's long axis, lifting the solid wood top with a quiet architectural confidence. The rounding at the base of each leg is a small but deliberate gesture, one that softens the silhouette without undermining its rigor.
The tabletop's grain runs lengthwise, letting the natural character of the oak speak without embellishment. A solid wooden frame connects top to legs, giving the construction a structural integrity that reads as simplicity. Available in soap or oil finish, each treatment responds differently to light and age, developing its own patina over time.
