Francesco Rota ha progettato la serie Ami per Paola Lenti come uno studio sulla moderazione, in cui la precisione strutturale e l'artigianato arrivano alla stessa conclusione. La sedia da pranzo è offerta in due altezze di seduta, adattandosi a una varietà di configurazioni del tavolo senza compromettere la sua silhouette equilibrata.
Il telaio è costruito in acciaio inossidabile AISI 316, una lega di tipo marino scelta per la sua resistenza alla salsedine e all'esposizione prolungata. Una finitura satinata o verniciata opaca nei colori avorio, grafite o grigio lava conferisce alla base il suo carattere sobrio e ponderato.
Lo schienale fisso è intrecciato a mano in una scelta di materiali, ognuno con la propria texture e profondità:

Il cuscino del sedile idrorepellente è fissato con cinghie elastiche, completando una forma che bilancia apertura e comfort. L'approccio di Rota all'arredamento da esterno insiste sul fatto che l'esposizione agli elementi non è un compromesso, ma una condizione che l'oggetto è progettato per abitare pienamente.
