In questa forma fusa, Omer Arbel introduce un elemento secondario: una bolla di vetro opaco sospesa a metà della massa, catturata nel momento della sua stessa formazione. How does the 38 Series achieve the internal bubble effect?
Omer Arbel and the Bocci glassblowers introduce a secondary gather of milk glass into a molten borosilicate globe, then manipulate airflow and heat to suspend the inner form mid-mass before the material solidifies. The position and scale of the bubble are inherently variable, making precise replication impossible.
Can the 38 Series be configured for large-scale installations?
Yes. The series is available as single pendants, multi-light suspensions, and clustered canopy configurations with many pendants grouped at varying cord lengths. Bocci works directly with architects and designers to develop installation drawings suited to the specific spatial conditions of a project.

Borosilicate is a glass formulation with high resistance to thermal expansion and exceptional optical clarity. The variation is substantial. The internal milk-glass bubble differs in position, opacity, and scale from piece to piece, meaning two pendants from the same production run may read as quite distinct objects. Bocci frames this variability as intrinsic to the work, not a quality inconsistency.
