Metrica was founded in Milan in 2009 by industrial designer Robin Rizzini and managing partner Lucio Quinzio Leonelli. The studio developed a distinctive working method that combined Italian design sensitivity with research, technical development, and an informed understanding of international markets. Rather than treating aesthetics as an isolated discipline, Metrica approached each project as a complete system in which concept, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial strategy contributed to a coherent result.
The studio established an international reputation through collaborations with Arper, Desalto, Fantoni, Paola Lenti, Ligne Roset, MDF Italia, Manutti, and other leading manufacturers. Its portfolio spans seating, tables, storage systems, outdoor furniture, and workplace collections, often characterized by slender profiles, balanced geometry, and meticulous construction. Projects such as the 25 table for Desalto, Minima for MDF Italia, Pilotis for COR, and Flows for Manutti reflect Metrica's ability to unite industrial efficiency with the refinement and material intelligence associated with Italian design.
