Christian Woo

Nato nel 1973 | Spain

Christian Woo is a self-taught furniture designer and craftsman born in Madrid in 1973 and raised in British Columbia, Canada. Inspired by his grandfather's dedication to woodworking, he developed an early connection to the craft and later trained as a cabinetmaker. In 2006, he established his eponymous studio in Vancouver, building a practice centered on modern furniture, material integrity, and close involvement in every stage of design and fabrication.

Working from Vancouver's North Shore, Woo creates furniture in FSC-certified hardwoods, with each piece handcrafted and finished with oil to preserve the natural character of the material. His work is informed by the tranquility and vast scale of the Pacific Northwest landscape, translating those qualities into tables, benches, seating, and storage defined by substantial proportions and refined simplicity. Collections such as Noga, Column, Caterpillar, and Diptiq reveal a design language that balances Brutalist influence with precise craftsmanship and a warm, livable presence. His work has been presented internationally across North America and Europe.
