Johanna Grawunder approaches furniture as she approaches light: with the conviction that color is not decoration but structure. The XX Console Table gives form to that belief through two interlocking X-shaped bases, each cut and laminated from tempered glass measuring 3/10 inch thick, in transparent pink and orange. The geometry is deliberate. The X is both module and motif, a repeated unit that reads as pattern from one angle and as pure volume from another.
A specialized chamfering and gluing process refines every edge, removing any industrial rawness and allowing the glass planes to meet with quiet precision. Polished chrome elements mark the joints, introducing a metallic accent that reflects the colored glass back onto itself. The top, also in laminated glass, rests on the base without fuss, its transparency preserving the visual continuity of the structure below.
