Dror Benshetrit's Peacock armchair for Cappellini begins with a contradiction: felt, one of the softest and most ancient textiles, pressed and folded into forms that read as almost architectural. The rippled folds hold their shape with a confidence that belies the suppleness of the material, creating a silhouette that is at once organic and deliberately composed.
The underlying powder-coated metal frame, finished in anthracite, provides the structural discipline that allows the felt to perform. The contrast between the industrial precision of the frame and the expressive warmth of the fabric is where the design finds its character.
For the 2026 collection, the Peacock arrives in three single-color felt options: a deep red, a saturated indigo, and a grounded pine green. Each colorway shifts the mood of the piece considerably, from charged and confrontational to quiet and considered.
