Louis Weisdorf conceived the Multi-Lite in 1972 as an exploration of a single form's capacity to do more than one thing. The table lamp carries that original intelligence forward, translating the celebrated pendant silhouette into a compact fixture built around two independently rotating outer shades. Their overlap, separation, or alignment changes the character of the light entirely.
At its most open, the lamp casts a broad, ambient glow. Rotated inward, the shades concentrate illumination into a directed beam, concealing the source and deepening the interplay of shadow across a surface. No tool required, no mechanism to learn. The adjustment is gestural and immediate.
