Sebastian Herkner named this armchair after the Hausa word for frog, and the reference is apt: Kwado has a compact, grounded presence that belies its lightness. The shell's deliberate cutouts create a dialogue between volume and absence, giving the padded form an almost graphic silhouette from every angle.
The shell interlocks precisely with the base, a relationship that reads as both structural logic and visual intention. Three versions are available: fixed, swivel, and swivel with return mechanism. Each preserves the same proportion and character.

Herkner's practice moves fluidly between industrial process and material sensitivity, and Kwado reflects that range. The pouf, conceived as the exact inverse of the seat's void, extends the design's internal geometry into a second, independent object. Together or apart, they hold the same formal conversation.
