Koeda
Made by Cappellini
Designed by Nendo
Koeda is Nendo's study in reduction. A box of open space, built from metal rods and square bars, holds its geometric discipline until a single inner branch interrupts the frame - the one element that makes the object functional, and the one that makes it alive.
The name means "small branch" in Japanese, and the reference is precise. Nendo has long worked at the boundary between furniture and sculpture, finding the point where an object's purpose and its form become inseparable. Koeda lives at that boundary.
- Structure in metal rods and square bars, forming an open cubic frame
- Single interior branch for hanging garments
- Matte varnished finish in white, black, or mud
- Part of the Cappellini complementary catalogue, introduced in 2017
