Inseparables Salt And Pepper Set
Made by Laurence Brabant Editions
Designed by Laurence Brabant
Two vessels, one large and one small, designed to nest within each other. Inseparables transforms a purely functional object into a sculptural gesture, pausing at the threshold between craft and daily ritual.
Each piece is mouth-blown in borosilicate glass, a material valued for its optical clarity and resistance to thermal stress. The nesting form is not decorative for its own sake but a considered expression of relationship and proportion. Small holes pierced into the glass serve salt and pepper with quiet precision. A cork-stoppered port at the base allows for easy refilling without disturbing the composition.
- Mouth-blown borosilicate glass construction
- Two-vessel nesting form in differing scales
- Pierced holes for dispensing salt and pepper
- Cork plug port for effortless refills
Laurence Brabant Editions approaches the domestic object as a space for poetry. Each piece in the collection is conceived with the same attention to materiality and silhouette that one expects from sculptural work, brought into the context of the everyday table.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is borosilicate glass and why is it used for tableware?
Borosilicate glass contains boron trioxide, which gives it a very low coefficient of thermal expansion and exceptional resistance to heat and chemical exposure. These properties make it a preferred material for laboratory glassware and refined tableware, where clarity and durability are both required.
How are the two vessels used together?
The larger vessel and the smaller vessel are designed to nest concentrically, functioning independently as salt and pepper shakers while forming a single unified sculptural object when placed together on the table.
Who is Laurence Brabant and what is the design philosophy behind the brand?
Laurence Brabant is a French designer whose eponymous editions studio focuses on domestic objects conceived at the intersection of sculpture and function. The work is characterized by restrained forms, considered materiality, and an attention to the emotional register of everyday objects.
How do you refill the Inseparables shakers?
Each vessel includes a small port sealed with a cork plug, which can be removed to refill the shaker and replaced to maintain the clean silhouette of the piece.
Is mouth-blown glass consistent in appearance between pieces?
Because each vessel is produced by hand through mouth-blowing, minor variations in form and surface are inherent to the process. These subtle differences are a signature of handmade glass and distinguish each piece as an individual object.
