Family Chairs

Junya Ishigami is a Japanese architect and designer known for work that dissolves the boundary between structure and atmosphere. His practice explores extreme lightness and perceptual ambiguity, earning him the Golden Lion at the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale.

Cataphoresis, also called electrocoating or e-coating, is an electrochemical process that deposits a uniform protective layer of paint onto a metal surface. It provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard powder coating alone, making it well suited to outdoor environments.

The Family Chairs are conceived as a collection of five and are sold as a complete set, reflecting Ishigami's design intent that the chairs be read together as a unified family of forms.
