Yes. Untreated teak weathers naturally from its original warm tone to a silver-grey patina when exposed to sun and rain. This is an inherent quality of the wood, not a sign of deterioration. Applying teak oil periodically can slow the process and preserve the warmer tone if preferred.

Teak is naturally high in oils and silica, making it exceptionally resistant to moisture, insects, and decay without treatment. Occasional cleaning with mild soap and water is generally sufficient. If the silver patina is not desired, a light sanding followed by teak oil can restore the original color.

FSC certification means the teak is sourced from forests managed to strict environmental and social standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council. It ensures the wood's chain of custody is traceable and that harvesting practices support long-term forest health.
