14.36 Random

Thirty-six cast glass pendants, each one distinct. The 14.36 is among the most arresting expressions of Bocci's series 14, a body of work rooted in the belief that glass, when allowed to behave according to its own nature, produces forms no designer could fully predict or replicate.

Each pendant is blown and cast by hand at Bocci's studio in Vancouver, where the process itself becomes a collaborator. Molten glass is introduced into a mold and then subjected to controlled cooling, trapping air, capturing light, and producing a surface that is simultaneously raw and precise. No two pendants are identical.

At scale, the 14.36 functions less like a fixture and more like a weather event, a cloud of refracted warm light suspended overhead. The white powder-coated canopy provides a clean, recessive anchor, keeping the visual weight entirely in the glass. Cable drop lengths range from 300mm to 12,000mm, giving architects and designers significant latitude in how the composition occupies a volume.
