Bertrand Lejoly

Born 1980 | Belgium

Bertrand Lejoly is a Belgian designer whose work is distinguished by restraint, balance, and a strong sensitivity to architecture and context. Born in 1980, he grew up in the German-speaking part of Belgium, absorbing Belgian, German, and French cultural influences from an early age. He studied at the Ecole superieure des arts Saint-Luc in Liege, then began his career in Germany before moving to Milan, where he worked for seven years as a senior designer with Matteo Thun. In 2013, he joined Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen as Head of Product Design, further shaping the clear and disciplined language that defines his work today.

In 2018, Lejoly founded his own Antwerp-based design studio, building a practice that spans furniture, lighting, bathroom products, and objects for international brands including Serax, Duravit, Paola Lenti, Fantini, Zanotta, and FontanaArte. His studio describes its approach as one in which objects are not only aesthetically balanced but also thoughtfully connected to their architectural surroundings. That sensibility gives his work a timeless yet contemporary quality, with pieces that feel expressive without excess and refined without coldness.
