Coinciding with NeoCon this year, Luminaire continued its commitment to thought-provoking programming with an exhibition that introduced Atelier, Fantoni’s first collaboration with international design and architecture firm Gensler.
Having launched at 2019’s edition of Salone del Mobile in Milan, Atelier emerged from the Gensler London office’s need for an adaptive furniture system that would support an agile mindset, allowing for small, nimble teams to reconfigure their spaces as needed. Experimental in nature with a refined industrial aesthetic, Atelier responds to the increasing need for hyper-adaptive, collaboration spaces found in the next generation of workplaces.
During the opening reception, Gensler’s design team provided guests with further insight into the system’s elements and discuss the development and nuances of the adaptive system.
With over 130 years of experience, Fantoni is one of the leading manufacturers of office systems, MDF paneling, and acoustical products. Their innovative products are created within their network of companies from the production of materials and semi-finished products to the design of innovative office furnishing systems, inspired by the most up-to-date principles of well-being and design.

2019 marks a celebratory year for Luminaire. Not only is the brand celebrating 45 years since its inception, but also the 30th-anniversary of its Chicago showroom in the city of architecture. While celebrating its origins, Luminaire thanks everyone who has been along for the journey and continue to support and help reshape the idea of what a design store can be.
