Each of the four sculptures explores the landscape of love with various configurations of porcelain figures perched (bravely, one imagines) on wooden blocks. 9 Mois depicts a man and a pregnant woman, Dis Papa is a father and child, and the two pieces each titled La Recontre are a pair of men and a man-woman pair. The Pairs Sculptures artfully convey strong emotion through simple gestures and materials, especially in the pairs whose stick-like arms are extended towards each other as they hold hands.
