Inspired by the undulating bays and gulfs that grace shorelines of the designer’s homeland, the Republic of Karelia in Finland, the wave-like surface of the Karelia Chair rolls and ripples with curves and caves, creating a visually interesting texture that cradles the body with an incomparable tactility for a beloved piece both audacious and unique in form and composure.

One of the first frameless armchairs ever conceived, Karelia is a piece of history, a non-conformist pop icon of the 1960s with a bright personality that became a symbol of freedom, dynamic, engaging, and sensational.
