Each Gople diffuser is hand-blown by artisans in Murano, Italy, meaning no two pieces are precisely alike. The process preserves centuries-old glassmaking techniques while producing a form derived from botanical research into how plants respond to light.

Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a process that bonds ultrathin metallic layers directly onto the glass surface under vacuum conditions. The result is a color depth and durability that conventional paint or coating cannot achieve, and the process generates significantly less chemical waste.

The Gople was designed by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), the Copenhagen-based architecture firm, in collaboration with Artemide. The silhouette was informed by scientific research indicating that plants orient their growth toward specific wavelengths of light, giving the form its distinctly organic quality.

Yes. The Gople is produced in multiple formats, including table and pendant versions, as well as an RWB variant that incorporates red, white, and blue light. This allows the design to be deployed consistently across varied spatial contexts.

Artemide engineered the Gople to emit light that interacts with the hand-blown glass in a diffuse, warm manner. The form itself acts as a sculptural diffuser, softening the output while the chosen glass finish modulates both the color and the perceived warmth of the ambient light.
